"I'll meet you under the Kern Clock" was a common Detroit expression for almost a century. The Kern Clock was originally located on the Kern Department Store at the corner of Gratiot and Woodward. In recognition of this historic Detroit landmark, the Compuware Corporation has restored the clock to the proximity to its original location.
