Battery Kinzie is the largest battery of Fort Worden and also the largest in the Puget Sound. This battery is considered important because it shows the final step of the evolution of the military battery before it disappeared.
The two story battery is 350 feet long and 25 feet high. The rooms within are large and roomy and there are many windows to let natural light into the interior spaces, something quite rare in earlier batteries. The structure was constructed in 1908.
