The Union Army suffered terrible casualties in futile frontal assaults on December 13 against entrenched Confederate defenders on the heights behind Fredericksburg.
Begin the visit at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at 1013 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, where you can view displays of Civil War artifacts and obtain information on walking tours and/or driving tours through the Fredericksburg battlefields. You can relive the battles at Marye's Heights and Prospect Hill and visit the Fredericksburg National Cemetery, Sunken Road, Lee's Hill, Meade's Pyramid, and other sites from the battle that took place in Fredericksburg.
Daily hours are 9AM - 5PM. Admission is free.
