The Lewis & Clark Expedition reached the shores of the Pacific Ocean at this beach (present-day Waikiki Beach) on November 18, 1805. Arriving here they completed their mission as directed by President Thomas Jefferson. According to Jefferson's instructions, the Expedition was to find a route to the Pacific Ocean for purposes of commerce.Instructions for logging waymark: A photograph is required of you (or your GPS receiver, if you are waymarking solo) and the historic signboard.
