I spotted Smokey Bear at the summit (4,862 ft. elevation) of Thompson Pass in Idaho while on a Elderhostel Trip in August 2007 along the path of the Missoula Ice Age Floods.

I traveled the Missoula Ice Age Floods path in August 2007 with an Elderhostel group. I spotted Smokey bear at the 4,862 ft. elevation summit of Thompson Pass in Idaho. There was a section marker on a nearby ridge along with a Thompson Pass signboard. We traveled west along Prospect Creek to Murray, Idaho and beyond to the Pacific Ocean.
