Since the dawn of time, mazes have been used for many purposes; as a form of artwork for gardens, used for entertainment, and some even served as a symbol that portrays the journey of life. Ancient and modern mazes have been known to be made out of hedges, stone walls, turf, trees and, of course, corn stalks!
Our unique brand of good farming fun has an appeal that is perhaps most obvious to families. The perfect activity for kids, parents and grandparents, some of our favorite memories are of watching the bonding moments that take place as families work together to navigate their way to the exit. Believe it or not, it's the kids who usually take the prize for the best sense of direction!
Over the years there have been many myths about solving a maze. For instance, the old adage about placing your right hand along the wall will always lead you to the exit, might work if you have a few days to find your way through. While there’s really no sure fire way to conquer a maze, a man named Tremauz came up with a few tips that may be helpful as you navigate the pathways of our cornfield maize. Use these tips as a guide or just wing it –either way you will find yourself enjoying being lost for a little while.
Tip #1 No path should be used more than twice
Tip #2 If you arrive at a choice of ways you have never visited before, it does not matter which one you take.
Tip #3 When a new path leads you to a junction of ways you have visited before, or into a blind alley, retrace your steps to where you entered it.
Tip #4 When an old path leads you to a junction of ways you have visited before, take a new path if possible; if not, take any of the others.
