This is one of the original lions that was on the Centre Street Bridge but now on display at City Hall, this lion is modeled after the lions that surround Lord Nelson's (Admiral Horatio Viscount Nelson) monument in Trafalgar Square in London, England

This lion is one of the original four lions that were modeled after the lions which were originally designed by Sir Edwin Landseer, that are said to protect Nelson’s Column.
This lion is one of the original lions that were on the bridge. One now sits in permanent storage, this lion was suitable for display in front of City Hall.
