These baths, right by the Rhine, were used by the inhabitants of the industrial and trading area in the lower town of Augusta Raurica from the second half of the third century AD.

In the fourth century the complex was altered and incorporated into the Late Roman fortress. Today the Rhine baths can be visited and there is a small display about bathing in Roman times.

The site is enclosed in a shelter.
