Cram and Ferguson designed both St. Mark’s Sunday School Building and the adjacent church. The church wasn’t built until 1952 and, although considered ‘historic,’ looks pretty much like most suburban churches. It’s interesting to note that between the erection of the interestingly Gothic Sunday School Building in 1927 and the blase suburban church in 1952, both principals of the firm, Cram and Ferguson, had passed away.

The congregation of the church and Sunday school was founded by German Lutherans on August 29, 1813. Services were not held in English until 1877.
