Butler’s first YMCA, on the Diamond, combines elements of Romanesque and Dutch Colonial styles. It was probably designed by regional architect S.W. Foulke.

The base and entrance to this building, designed with arches of heavy stone, exudes Romanesque style, but the design of the brick upper portions looks to be more Dutch Colonial. Surprisingly, the combination works beautifully on the Diamond.
