Drive down The Alameda to number 808 in San Jose, and there you'll find Babe.

He's a classic Muffler Man and has been selling mufflers here since the 1960s. The story has it that he bears more than a passing resemblence to Babe, the owner of the business, who moved him downtown from a previous location in the Willow Glen neighborhood. He even has a name patch on his shirt that says "Babe".

He's not holding a muffler though. He's holding a Hockey stick.

Babe's is just a few blocks away from the arena where the San Jose Sharks play.

Yes, they sell mufflers...

But this is Shark's territory

and that's more important.

(Roadside America lists this as a Bunyan, but I just don't see it)
