The cornerstone for the squat, Romanesque St. Andrews was laid on August 12, 1891. Like many of the churches in Butler, the windows are filled with beautiful stained glass.

The United Presbyterians held services in private homes and at the county courthouse until a brick meeting house was erected in 1825. The meeting house was enlarged in 1871 and replaced on August 12, 1891 when the cornerstone of this church was laid.
