Machu Picchu - New World Ancient Evidence on Waymarking.com

I Waymarked the ruins at Machu Picchu, a 30 minute drive outside of Aqua Calientes, Peru, 96 years to the date of their rediscovery by Hiram Bingham on July 24th, 1911. As I was reading the plaque which commemorated Bingham's 50th anniversary of his discovery a man stood next to me who told me about how he was from the same home town a s Bingham and was actually a family friend. Quite a first Waymark and mostly unintentionally. What a surprise it was to be there on the 96th!
