This American Locomotive Company (ALCO) 0-6-0 locomotive was built in November of 1940 for the Alabama State Docks Commission. It was used to switch cargo from 1940 to 1956. In 1957, the Gulf States Paper Corporation in Holt, Ala purchased this locomotive. The Junior Chamber of Commerce of Tuscaloosa AL received this as a donation in 1959, and put it on display in 1980. It was then donated to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Versailles, Ky. It finally arrived at its current home in Gambier, Ohio on April 2001.
Aside from the locomotive there is also a Nickel Plate Road flat car, and a C&O caboose on display. The park that it is in is also very nice. You can either drive up and park, or take a trip down the Kokosing Gap Trail, which is a paved rail trail with many parking areas along the way. The train is sitting on a section of track, and around it are many informative signs, as well as old railroad switches and signal lights. There is a picnic shelter and restroom facility constructed to look like an old train depot. The train itself it not fenced off so you can get up close with the locomotive, and even peek inside.
