Commissioned by the Friends of Community Public Art of Joliet (www.fcpaonline.org), a statue honoring Joliet native TSgt. Sator "Sandy" Sanchez was dedicated in 2000.
TSgt. Sanchez's heroism was also recognized by the Air Corps by being the only enlisted man to have a B-17 named after his honor.
