The
Frank Lloyd Wright Visitors Center was designed in 1953 by Frank Lloyd Wright as
a restaurant to serve as a gateway to his Taliesin Estate. The construction of
the building was not completed prior to Wright's death in 1959. Construction was
continued by Wright's associates and completed in 1967. The building was
operated as an independent restaurant "The Spring Green" for the next 25 years.
The building was acquired by Taliesin Preservation, Inc. and converted to a
visitors center. The center has the tour headquarters, a book store and the
Riverview Terrace Restaurant.
