The Tazewell County Confederate Memorial is located in front of the Tazewell County Courthouse on Main Street in Tazewell, Virginia. Most County Confederate Memorials in the south face south, but due to the position of the courthouse, this memorial had to face north. LOcal residents claim that the soldier on the memorial is facing north so that "he can keep careful watch on 'The Yankees' just in case...."
The inscription on the memorial reads:
"To the Confederate Soldiers of Tazewell - 1861-1865"
