The Melbourne Military Memorial Park is open to the public after a Memorial Day, 2003, dedication ceremony. The park is located between Hickory and Oak streets, adjacent to Honor America’s Liberty Bell Museum.
The memorial plaque reads as follows: CIVIL WAR This Civil War Memorial is dedicated to those individuals who were engaged in a massive struggle, for irreconcilable reasons. This conflict solidified a divided people and brought about a nation under God, indivisible with a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
