Brat Tor has a 12 ft 8in high granite cross on it's summit it’s known as Widgery Cross.
It was erected by of William Widgery, the well known local artist, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887.
It is an unusual cross for Dartmoor as it is made from granite blocks, as far as I know this is the only one on Dartmoor made in this way.
