Post office is conveniently located a 1/2 block off Aurora Ave (Hwy 99). It features a drive up mailbox and plentiful parking. The staffs' performance is average. Sometimes they're helpful, their service is not particularly fast but not terribly slow... the line moves but they're not breaking any speed records. The atmosphere is clean and safe.

This post office is suffering from an identity crisis... It doesn't know if it's a Bitter Lake post office, a Seattle post office, or a Shoreline post office.

The information on the USPS.com site says it's the Bitter Lake Post Office located in Seattle but the zip code (98133) is clearly a Shoreline zip.

The Bitter Lake question is easily solved because it's a neighborhood and not an official city. But there is no clear answer to the question of Seattle vs Shoreline. I believe that the postal website lists the post office as a Seattle location because that's what is on the building (see photo). The building is probably mislabeled because Shoreline didn't become an incorporated city until 1995 which was AFTER the post office was built. The gov't is saving the tax payers a little $$$ by not updating the lettering on the side of the building. Is that clear? (as mud) ;-)

Visit Instructions:
To post a log to an existing U.S. Post Office waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the post office in the background if that is possible.

A description of your Post Office is required, such as when it was built, history, outstanding or unique features, population of the city or town, just do a quick internet search and find an interesting bit of information about the city or town and add it to the long description, to make it more interesting. Even just adding in the population of the area can give others an idea of how many people this post office serves. This description should be at least three sentences.

If your Post Office has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
Including your gps device in the picture is not necessary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval, as long as all other details of your log are acceptable.
