The Poenine Way traversed the Alps between Augustus Praetoria (Aosta) and Forum Claudii Vallensium (Martigny). It crossed the Grand Saint Bernard Pass which some claim was the route Hannibal took on his way to do battle with the Romans.
This piece of the road is located at the entrance to the ancient city of Forum Claudii Vallensium.
