After a year of careful planning and organizing, Discovery Station playground was build in the center of the two-square-block Kilgour Park.

The playground has an area for all ages of children, including the handicapped. Parking is available on the residential streets surrounding Kilgour Park. It is open from dawn to dusk. Sterling received the First Place Governor's Hometown Award in recognition of the efforts of area volunteers who made Imagination Station a reality.

Handicapped Ramping*, Castle Maze, Pirate Ship, Amphitheater, Upside-down House, Heard House, Sitting Tower, Sand Table*, Zipwire, Bouncy Toys, Suspension Bridge, Elastic Balance Beam, Child's Swing*, Covered Tot Slide, Batmobile, Wiggly Steps, Tot Slide, Tube Slide, T-Rex Slide, Swinging Tire, Ring Bridge, Fireman's Pole, Tot Lot Bench, Monkey Bars*, Monkey bars, Sand Digger*, Sand Digger, Swings, Rubber Bridge, Three Picnic Tables*, Three Picnic Tables,Doll Swings*, Climbing Wall, Balance Beam, Abacus*, Tic Tac Toe* Tire Bridge, Tire Walk.
