Avery good treat while visiting this mural is the small Bossier Metal Zoo. Some very artistic people have taken items possible from a junk yard and welded them together and they look exactly like insects. Also, across the street is locate the East Bank Theater and Gallery with a small display of great art. Just around the corner is the Horseshoe river boat Casino.

In the 1960's Louisiana wanted to build a new Governor’s mansion at the state capitol in Baton Rouge Louisiana. It was copied after a unique Plantation Ante Bellum home of Oak Alley. This building was then located in Vacherie, Louisiana on the west side of the Mississippi River about 35-40 miles north of New Orleans. The building is a beautiful Ante Bellum home but has a colonnade of magnificent Live Oak trees leading from the house down to the river. It is still there and open for tourism. This mural depicts that Plantation Ante Bellum home. There are a number of web sites on “Oak Alley” plantation.

Bossier City is a interesting place to visit and tour in addition to visiting this mural. There are many places, other murals and Geo Caches in the twin cities of Bossier City and nearby Shreveport just across the Red River that includes in Bossier City the Louisiana Board Walk right on the bank of the Red River with 55-shops plus; the Pro Bass shop and a six mile long parkway, Teague Parkway that follows the river with a walking path. Across the river in Shreveport the Clyde Fant Parkway (six mile long parkway that follows the river); River View Park with much scenic scenes and attractions; two river boat casinos; Sci Port; Spirt of Red River Cruise; Barnwell Center & Gardens (Indoor Planetarium); on Spring Street is the Spring Street History Museum (free) and the Antique Car and Firemans museum; in the 42-block area of downtown Shreveport are many murals, statues, museums, artistic buildings some on the National Register of Historic Places; Last Flag of the Confederacy.
