A marble monument placed at the base of a flagpole commemorating Independence Day in 1976. This time capsule was placed at the "top" of the Crystal City Park in 1976. From this vantage point, visitors get a panoramic view of the Crystal City Park and Cemetery beyond it. The park has a lot to offer including multiple playground areas, a public pool, tennis, basketball, baseball, raquetball, softball, volleyball and picnic areas. The grandstand and gazebo placed by the Rotary Club is a focal point and houses many events throughout the year.
This Time Capsule was buried on July 4, 1976 to commemorate America's Independence and 200 year anniversary.
The Time Capsule will be opened on July 4, 2076 to celebrate another 100 years of American Independence.
