This beach area was greatly changed for the movie. Much of the vegetation was removed and a large amount of white sand was moved in to make the beach area appear larger. The Tsunami in December of 2004 returned the beach to its natural state. The beach can only be accessed by smaller boats and most day tours from Phi Phi island stop here. You can also charter a long boat from Phi Phi to come here. It was a popular area prior to the movie as it is a protected inlet and the water is warm.
