This Moon Tree is a Coast Redwood (Sequoia Sempervirens) that Major Stuart Roosa took on the Apollo 14 Mission. It was raised into a seedling at the Forest Service Genetics Lab and presented to the City of Monterey to celebrate the Bicentennial of the United States of America.
The tree is located adjacent to the old historic Colton Hall in Friendly Plaza.
