Squamish Nation Welcome Figure

A gift from the Squamish Nation to the citizens of West Vancouver, this 16-foot high piece was carved at Mosquito Creek Marina from an old growth cedar log from Cypress Mountain provided by the District of West Vancouver.

"This Squamish Nation figure was carved to represent our grandmother’s strength, to carry on our traditions and teachings that were told to us and so that we may respect the land, animals and all people who come to these shores of our home." - Sequiliem (Stan Joseph)
