I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to build a shack out in the middle of the Nisqually delta. The river is slowly taking this cabin as its own.

It's located on property within the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge about 1 mile from the visitor center on the Brown Farm Dike Trail. It's situated right on the shores of the Nisqually and I'm guessing it was someone's fishing shack, although I couldn't find any information about it. There's a barn that's about 2-2 1/2 miles off that the refuge owns now. Maybe the cabin was a part of the farm back when this area was farmed.
The Nisqually delta is a National Wildlife Refuge and a National Natural Landmark. To use the trails you'll need to pay a $3 entrance fee. Parking and trailhead are located at N47 04.333, W122 42.726.
