This is one of 88 bells cast to celebrate Ohio's Bicentennial in 2003. Each bell was cast in the county where it resides by a mobile foundry. The bells were cast usually in the county seat in 2002 or 2003 at local events and festivals leading up to the state's Bicentennial, such as county fairs, street festivals, or festivals created just for the bell casting. The bells are about 2 feet wide, 2 feet high and 230 pounds. They are inscribed with the name of the county, the date of casting, the bicentennial logo and the Great Seal of Ohio.
These bells were cast by the Verdin Co., based out of Cincinnati. Verdin is America's oldest bell and clock company.
This bell specifically was cast July 4, 2002, and is on permanent public display.
