These bench marks are located on opposite walls a few yards from each other at the junction of Church Lane Head near Widecombe in the Moor. The Bench Mark on the west side of the road is shown on the 1886 OS map of Devon with a spot height of 923.1 feet above sea level. The one on the West side appears to be later.
