This beautiful gem of a trail lies on boardwalks through the Hylebos Wetland. The scenery of this trail is continuous as you walk the one mile loop. It is the wildlife, flowers and quiet beauty of an ancient wetland.

There are interpretive signs along the entire trail. Things to look for: the 20' deep peat sinkhole, massive nurse logs, a bird blind. Animals and plants to watch for: Huge banana slugs, Pileated Woodpeckers, Great Blue Herons, Rabbits, Raccoons, coyote, bleeding heart, Nootka Rose, Salmonberry, Elderberry, Indian Plum, endangered species of sedge, Skunk Cabbage, and a huge variety of interesting fungi. Be sure to click on the gallery link to see all of the photos I've uploaded of the plants and animals we saw on the Spring day we walked the trail. When you finish your hike be sure to sign the trail register to let others know what you saw.

The above coordinates are at the parking area/trailhead. It is right off of 348th St. in the parking lot for the 2 old cabins (part of the park). Follow the trail to the right of the Barker cabin (smaller cabin). You will wind around a bit and then come out into a picnic area and a kiosk with a trail register on it. Continue on the trail to the right of the kiosk (N47 17.271 W122 19.713) and you will soon reach the boardwalk. The boardwalk follows a loop and will eventually bring you back to the kiosk. While on the trail be sure to do the Hylebos Wetland Multicache.
