This remarkable Renaissance hotel was built by a prominent figure: William II the Roux, Lord of Bourgthéroulde. It seems that work began in 1501.
On the death of William II, in 1520, it became the property of William III, Abbot of Aumale. It was at this time that the famous gallery of Aumale (or Francis I) was built, representing the interview of the Drap d'Or Camp. In 1532, it was the brother of William III, Claude Le Roux who inherited the good.
The hotel served to accommodate important figures like Cardinal Alexandre de Medici in 1596. He remained in the Le Roux family until the end of the 17th century.
Victim of a serious fire in 1770, which destroyed the north wing, it was restored. It went through the revolutionary period and became, in 1848, the seat of a bank, the Comptoir d'Escompte.

Today, it is the headquarters of Crédit Industriel de Normandie, a regional bank of the CIC Group.
Since June 2010, the Hotel has become a world class hotel following its complete renovation by the SLIH group.

Ce remarquable hôtel de la renaissance a été construit par un personnage éminent : Guillaume II le Roux, seigneur de Bourgthéroulde. Il semble que les travaux s'engagèrent dès 1501.
A la mort de Guillaume II, en 1520, il devint la propriété de Guillaume III, abbé d'Aumale. C'est à cette époque que fut construite la célèbre galerie d'Aumale (ou de François Ier), représentant l'entrevue du Camp du Drap d'Or. En 1532, c'est le frère de Guillaume III, Claude Le Roux qui hérita du bien.
L'hôtel servit a accueillir des personnages importants comme le cardinal Alexandre de Médicis en 1596. Il resta dans la famille Le Roux jusqu'à la fin du XVIIe siècle.
Victime d'un grave incendie en 1770, qui détruisit l'aile nord, il fut restauré. Il traversa la période révolutionnaire et devint, en 1848 le siège d'une banque, le Comptoir d'Escompte.

De nos jours, c'est le siège du Crédit Industriel de Normandie, banque régionale du groupe CIC.
Depuis juin 2010, l'Hôtel est devenu un hôtel de classe internationale suite à sa renovation complète par le groupe SLIH.
