Schrijver Ron Heymenberg schreef in zijn thriller over diverse panden in Amersfoort, maar deze kerk werd beschreven in het volgende stuk.
Quote: "Even later weer die stem ‘Albert.’ Het leek alsof de stem van buiten kwam. Terwijl Albert de luiken opende om naar buiten te kijken hoorde hij weer zijn naam roepen, nu duidelijker. Gelokt door het geroep schoot hij snel zijn kleren aan en haastte zich naar buiten. De lantaarns schenen en weerspiegelden in het water van de gracht. De mysterieuze stem lokte hem verder bij hun huis vandaan. Meters gracht trokken langs hem voorbij. Vlak voor een kerk hield hij abrupt halt. De stem leek vanuit de kerk te komen.
‘Oud katholieke H. Georgiuskerk’ melde het goudkleurige bordje nabij de houten ingangspoort. Een harde wind kwam vanuit het niets op zetten en leek Albert de adem af te snijden. Voordat hij besefte wat er gebeurde ging er een snijdende gil door zijn ziel en zette hij het op een rennen." Unquote
Author Ron Heymenberg wrote about various buildings in Amersfoort in his thriller, but this church was described in the following passage.
Quote: "A moment later, that voice again: 'Albert.' It seemed as if the voice was coming from outside. As Albert opened the shutters to look outside, he heard his name being called again, this time more clearly. Lured by the call, he quickly got dressed and rushed outside. The lanterns shone and reflected in the water of the canal. The mysterious voice lured him further away from their house. Metres of canal passed him by. Just before a church, he stopped abruptly. The voice seemed to be coming from inside the church.
'Old Catholic St. George's Church' read the gold-coloured sign near the wooden entrance gate. A strong wind came out of nowhere and seemed to take Albert's breath away. Before he realised what was happening, a piercing scream went through his soul and he started running. Unquote
