Taken from the website, "The Hotel Beale was built by John Mulligan and Harvey Hubbs in 1899 to replace a short lived 1898 wood version that had been destroyed in a fire. The sturdier new two story was built of stone and brick which seems to have served it well for over 100 years.
In 1906 the hotel was purchased by actor Andy Devine's parents for a reported price of about $32,000.00. In 1916 the hotel was remodeled and expanded to 70 rooms with the addition of a three story building behind the original. The remodeling also saw original Queen Anne style give way to a Mission Revival exterior style.
It is located at about a block from the railroad depot which was a source of many guests in the early days. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986."
