From the accompanying plaque:
"ATB Westhills Branch Mural
"Artist: Julie McLaughlin
"At a distance, this mural reflects the big picture of the southern Alberta landscape—it begins in downtown Calgary, then travels to the suburbs, rural countryside, Foothills and ends in the Rockies. But up close, there are individual stories. The lemonade stand and farmers' market are nods to local small businesses, and the squirrel collecting acorns is its own kind of bank. Locals might recognize the smiling barn south of the city.
'Tradition meets modernity in elements like the combine, grain elevators and wind turbines. And then there are the four seasons, divided throughout the landscapes. They act as a reminder of life's seasons, and how ATB responds to the changes in our lives.
"Julie McLaughlin is a freelance illustrator currently residing on Vancouver Island. She graduated from the Alberta College of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Design in 2006, and has since worked for a variety of editorial, advertising and publishing clients around the world."
