In “Amazing Race 3” multiple teams raced around the globe for $1,000,000 to 'amazing' locations. Earlier in this leg, the teams started in Marrakesh and needed to go to Munich, Germany for a clue to find the Detour directions at the Annasäule. This leg's Detour was a choice between Sled and Skate. In Sled, teams had to ride a bobsled with a team of professional bobsledders down the Olympic Bobsled Track in order to receive their next clue. Teri & Ian were the first to arrive at night, but other teams arrived shortly thereafter.
Host and Racemaster Phil Keoghan does mispronounce the name of the Annasäule in his description, calling it "Annasaule", rather than "Annasoile". The 'äu' in German is pronounced 'oi' in English.
We were able to visit on a family vacation. The mountains in the background are very amazing, as is the city of Innsbruck - home to 2 winter Olympics.
