The northeastern portal of the Thoraise tunnel on the canal du Rhône au Rhin in France. It is a one-way tunnel but as it is short it can be seen if a boat is already in the tunnel. The tunnel has a towpath on one side only. At the beginning of the 21st century an artist created waterfalls at each end that would stop as a boat entered. The arch that ejected the water can still be seen at each end. The tunnel roof was also adorned with large fairy lights along its length but these no longer work either.
