Röd pålkvarn i Mörbylånga

Denna pålkvarn ligger vid kusten i Mörbylånga. Pålkvarnar utvecklades på 1500-talet och på Öland fanns det på 1800-talet upp till 2000 pålkvarnar.
Varje gård hade sin egen stångkvarn, ibland till och med två. Dessa små kvarnars kapacitet var naturligtvis begränsad, men den räckte för att försörja gården med djurfoder och mjöl. De små kvarnarna flyttades med när gården bytte ägare och byggdes upp igen på den nya platsen.
Stångkvarnen sitter på en central stång. Den kan roteras på denna stång med hjälp av dragstänger som sticker ut från kvarnens torso, med vilka antingen flera personer eller ett häst kunde vrida kvarnen mot vinden när det var nödvändigt.
Den röda stångkvarnen från Mörbylånga stod ursprungligen på andra sidan ön och byggdes upp här endast för att ställas ut.

Red pile mill in Mörbylånga

This pile mill is located on the coastline of Mörbylånga. Pile mills were developed in the 16th century, and it is known that there were up to 2,000 pile mills on the island of Öland in the 19th century.
Each farm had its own post mill, sometimes even two. The capacity of these small mills was naturally limited, but it was sufficient to supply the farm with animal feed and flour. When the farm moved, the small mills were taken along to the new location and rebuilt there.
The post mill sits on a central post. It can be rotated on this post with the help of the drawbar protruding from the mill torso, with which either several people or a horse could turn the mill into the wind when necessary.
The red post mill in Mörbylånga originally stood on the other side of the island and was only rebuilt here for exhibition purposes.

Rote Pfahlmühle in Mörbylånga

An der Küstenlinie von Mörbylånga findet man diese Pfahlmühle. Pfahlmühlen wurden entwickelt im 16. Jahrhundert und für Öland ist bekannt, dass im 19. Jahrhundert bis zu 2000 Pfahlmühlen auf der Insel Öland standen.
Jeder Bauernhof hatte seine eigene Pfahlmühle, manchmal sogar zwei. Die Leistungsfähigkeit dieser kleinen Mühlen war natürlich eingeschränkt, sie reichte aber zur Versorgung des eigenen Hofes mit Tierfutter und Mehl. Die kleinen Mühlen wurden beim Hofwechsel mit umgezogen zum neuen Standort und dort wieder aufgebaut.
Die Pfahlmühle sitzt auf einem zentralen Pfahl. Sie ist auf diesem Pfahl drehbar mit Hilfe des aus dem Mühlen-Torso ragenden Zuggestänges mit welchem entweder mehrere Personen oder ein Pferd die Mühle in den Wind drehen konnten.
Die rote Pfahlmühle von Mörbylånga stand ursprünglich auf der anderen Inselseite und wurde hier nur wieder aufgebaut um sie auszustellen.
