Since 2024, a stone blacksmith has greeted residents, visitors, and tourists arriving in Baiona from Sabarís. The monument, made and donated by the Escola de Canteiros de Poio, pays tribute to Manolo Quintas, known as "O Ferreiro" (The Blacksmith) of Sabarís, who died in 2017 at the age of 76.
A blacksmith is a craftsman who works with iron, heating it, molding it, and shaping it.
Well known for making weapons in ancient times.
