La Orden de Predicadores, también conocida como la Orden de los Dominicos, es una orden religiosa mendicante de la Iglesia Católica fundada por Santo Domingo de Guzmán en el siglo XIII. Su misión principal es la predicación de la Palabra de Dios, siguiendo un estilo de vida basado en la comunidad, el estudio, la oración y la predicación.

Al mismo tiempo alude a todos los religiosos dominicos, los guardianes del Señor (Domini Canis), encargados de ahuyentar a los ladrones, es decir a los demonios que rondan alrededor de las almas."
