Small altar on a sockel in the garden next to the church.
In the altar a white small holy Mary figure about 30 centimetres high. In one of her hands she holds a beaded necklace. In front of her a woman kneels and worships her.

"A small chapel in honor of the patron saint of miners, St. Barbara, already existed in Rescheid before 1620.
The chapel, which belonged to the parish of Reifferscheid, was extended several times. Rescheid has been an independent parish since 1803. In 1890, the parish built a new church, which was dedicated to the patron saint St. Barbara and St. Nicholas as the second patron saint.
The church was almost completely destroyed during the turmoil of the war in 1944/45, but was rebuilt immediately after the end of the war. However, due to the poor conditions, it was much less ornate than the previous building."
