Information on the panel reads:
"Catholic Parish Church St. Matthew
You are standing here in front of the parish church St. Matthew, consecrated to the Holy Cross until about 1800. In 1130 the chapel situated near the castle" was raised to the rank of a parish church. Its interior today is determi-ned by the reconstructions and extensions during the late Gothic period from 1486 on whereas the annexes and the alterations of the roof outside are due to the reno-vation from 1865 until 1867. In the church there is the ta-ble of the high altar of 1491, decorated with gothic arca-des. The tabernacle, the sculptures of St. George and St. John and the cross above the high altar originate from the same time (for further de-tails cf. the booklet receivab-le in the parsonage)."
