Stonehenge, on the Salisbury Plains of England, is one of the most famous prehistoric megalith monuments in the world. This half-size partial replica of the final stage of Stonehenge is on the campus of the University of Missouri at Rolla. There is a small parking lot nearby, but parking can be difficult if classes are in session. The replica includes five free-standing arches. These are also called trilithons, meaning "three stones." This monument also duplicates the major astronomical alignments associated with Stonehenge. Numerous markers on site provide additional details.
