A las 7 horas y 50 minutos del fatídico día 28 de abril de 1942, parte de la fachada de la iglesia y su cúpula fueron destruidas por los bombardeos aéreos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, cuando fue alcanzada por bombas los días 3 y 4 de marzo y 28 de abril de 1942 y murieron dieciséis personas.

En 1944, una vez reconstruidos los daños causados por estos incidentes, se dejó como memoria viva de este infame suceso el reloj original con la leyenda perpetua de su recuerdo.



At 7:50 a.m. on the fateful day of April 28, 1942, part of the church's façade and its dome were destroyed by aerial bombing during World War II. It was hit by bombs on March 3 and 4, and April 28, 1942, killing sixteen people.

In 1944, after the damage caused by these incidents had been reconstructed, the original clock, bearing the perpetual legend of its memory, was left as a living memorial to this infamous event.
