The Detroit Fireworks have been a tradition that started in 1959 as part of an International freedom festival between Detroit Michigan, USA and Windsor, Ontario Canada.

The fireworks display, now known as the Ford Fireworks, is produced by The Parade Company and is a major attraction for both cities.
The fireworks are held annually, always the week prior to Canada Day ( July 1st) in Canada and Independence Day ( July 4th) USA.
Where to watch: The fireworks are visible from multiple locations along the Detroit USA and Windsor, Ontario waterfront as well as Belle Isle. Windsor has more accessible parkland along the waterfront and more locations to set up lawn chairs or blankets. Detroit has open waterfront at Hart Plaza with views of Windsor, and on Belle Isle, a large State park located on an Island in the Detroit River.
1959:
The Detroit-Windsor International Freedom Festival was established, with the fireworks display as its highlight.
2007:
The festival was divided into two separate events, with the Ford Fireworks becoming the focal point of Detroit River Days.
Sponsorship:
The fireworks were initially sponsored by Hudson's, then Target, and have been sponsored by Ford since 2013.
Location:
The fireworks are launched from the Detroit River, offering views from both Detroit and Windsor.
Attendance:
The event attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators annually.
