The statue atop this tombstone for Nevalee Bryan, is a seated woman with hair style and gown reminiscent of the Greek/Roman ancient times. Her hair is long and hanging, groomed, down her back. She is holding her proper left hand resting upon her proper left knee. Her proper right hand is raised and touching her proper right cheek. She sits with head bowed, and feet adjusted one in front of the other is a comfort pose. In her proper left hand, crapping down alongside her legs, is a garland of flowers.
" ... Nevalee was born in Owensville, Missouri to John and Laura (nee Buschmann) Bryan, October 7, 1907, She died in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 11, November 7, 1918 of an lung embolism which apparently affected her heart. ... " ~ Facebook
