Sayward Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1970, taking over responsibility from the MacMillan Bloedel Kelsey Bay Fire Brigade. Hall #2 was built in 1984 to provide better coverage in the Sayward Valley, supplementing hall #1 that covers the village site and Kelsey Bay.

Hall #2 is a simple structure with two back-in bays, housing Engine 3 and Rescue 22.

At the time of Waymarking, the hall seemed to be undergoing renovations, with the former two bay doors being replaced by a single wide door, new siding, and a new cover over the brush fire equipment trailer which is stored outside.
