"The current Convent of San José was built in 1917 and houses the Adoratrices Mothers. The engineer responsible for its construction was Francisco Franco Pineda.

It is a neo-Gothic building located in the Plaza de San José, whose uniqueness is enhanced by the fact that it is practically the only example of this architectural style in the Extremadura region.

The convent church has a small and simple main façade that opens onto the Plaza de San José. It consists of a doorway with a pointed arch featuring a relief by sculptor Julio Clivilles depicting the saint with the child Jesus and two angels.

Above it is a beautiful rose window, and crowning and emphasizing the central part is a bell gable that houses the bells and a typically Gothic cresting that originally ran throughout the building.

The church is covered internally with a barrel vault and a semicircular dome, with moldings imitating Gothic ribbed vaults."
