The brick structure is in virtually original condition, unfenced in bush surrounds. Of plain industrial design appropriate to its use, smaller and distinct in design from the pumping stations west of Merredin, it is in almost complete and authentic working condition. In use until 1969, it is a unique example of a goldfields water supply scheme pumping station and easily accessible from the main highway.

No.6 Pumping Station (fmr), Ghooli is one of eight original pumping stations located along the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. Constructed between 1901 and 1902, it is of brickwork masonry construction with a pitched roof of corrugated iron sheeting. There is an adjacent coal bin shelter structure with a railway formation to the south and a dominant tall steel chimney
