The RCAFA was formed in 1948. Then consisting of retired and serving RCAF members, its goals are primarily to advocate for a well-equipped, well-trained, well-prepared air force for Canada; motivate young Canadians to develop an interest in an aerospace (civil or military) career; and to inform new generations of Canadians about the importance and history of their country's air force.
The Association currently consists of 56 Wings spread across the entire country.

This monument honours and recognizes the dedication
and commitment of RCAF Association members on the 100th anniversary of the RCAF. This memorial was inspired and funded by the Wings inscribed upon it.

Description of Memorial:
Simple black granite marker located in the outdoor airpark of the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
The RCAF Association crest is emblazoned above the text. The numbers of the 56 Association Wings are inscribed on each end.
